NASA advises that it is dangerous to see solar eclipses through naked eyes and it can damage one's eyes. So don't look at the Sun directly. Looking at the Sun, even for a few seconds, can lead to permanent damage to the retina of the eye, it says. They're not safe to use during partial solar eclipse or surya grahan.
